God

No human being has ever been able to touch or hear him

When you address the Lord, do not imagine that your prayer* reaches Him directly. Here on earth, it is impossible to speak to an important person without going through intermediaries; well all the more so where God is concerned! And yet some people believe that anyone can talk directly to God. They will even tell you exactly what they say to Him and how He responds. Or sometimes, it is the other way around: God speaks to them and they reply. Poor wretches, if what they imagine were actually true, they would have been pulverized a long time ago, not the slightest trace would be left of them.
God is an energy of indescribable power. No human being has ever been able to touch Him, or hear Him or see Him. You will say that Abraham, Moses and the prophets of Israel spoke with God. Yes, the Old Testament recounts many such conversations, but in reality, this is purely a figurative way of presenting things. No human being has ever been in direct contact with God.
