To glorify the lord

Even if you are deprived of material advantages, you should still be able to rejoice and glorify the Lord, and say, ‘O Lord God, You are so good and so wise. You have saved me, for if I owned factories or banks, what worries I would have and how much time I would waste. Instead, I am free and have every opportunity to think about You. I don’t deserve much credit, because I am driven by my own needs, but all the same...’
Just look at all those bosses and managers, always harried, forever rushing about and anxious about their business, on the brink of a nervous breakdown. Whereas you, with no property, no shares in the stock market, or safe-deposit in the bank, with just enough to live on—what freedom you enjoy! For once, try to see things clearly and understand why you have been denied certain advantages. The day you decide to examine this carefully, an inner light will shine, showing you that what you thought were hardships are actually blessings—and you will give thanks to heaven.
