Words, a master’s

Sustain the disciple with the aliveness they contain

June 3rd 2012
A spiritual Master reveals some essential truths to his disciples, and it is up to the disciples to feel them, to absorb them and live them. Yes, a Master puts all his love, all his soul and spirit into his words, and the disciples take them, savour them and absorb them. They may even be much more sustained by the aliveness contained in his words than by the words themselves. Then, of course, it is a whole learning process for the disciples. It is their task to develop the sensitivity that would enable them to find the aliveness contained in their Master’s words, with which to sustain, strengthen and transform themselves. So long as they are happy just to read or hear words they note down without having felt or experienced anything, this whole unseen life, which could enlighten them, heal them and revitalize them, eludes them; they fail to receive it. If you ever want to know the true life, it is not your mind that must be awakened but your soul and spirit. And then, just hearing a few words will be all it takes to feel pervaded with light.
