Love

It forms a chain, a current that flows from you and comes back to you

It is because your notion of love is too narrow, too limited, that you are always unhappy. When you love someone, you desperately want them to return your love, and if they fail to do so you suffer. But why should this make you suffer? Do not worry about whether the person you love is also the one who loves you. Love needs to circulate freely from one person to another: we receive it and we must give it. The love you give one person will be given in turn to the one they love, thus forming a chain of love, a current that flows out from you and reaches thousands of other beings before returning to you, immensely amplified.
I am not saying that love should never be reciprocated; only that if it is not, you should not be so desolate. In any case, if two people are content to love each other and never try to extend their love to others, they cut off the flow and end by realizing that their own love has become poorer.*
