True riches
Spirituality is about knowing where to find them
May 13th 2025
Everybody wants to be rich, thinking, ‘Once I’m rich, I can have it all.’ Yes, that is true, and it is normal to want to be rich, as long as you do not equate riches with money. If you seek money, even when you have obtained it, you will not have the sense of being truly rich.
The only wealth that can truly make us rich is that which Jesus spoke about when he said: ‘Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.’ It is God Himself who gave human beings their desire for wealth, but what kind of wealth? As long as we are content to satisfy this desire on the physical plane, instead of seeking to satisfy it in the higher regions of the soul and spirit, we will never be rich, nor happy, nor free.
Some people think that someone who is spiritual should scorn wealth. Here again, they are mistaken. Spirituality is about knowing where to find true riches.*
