Love

True love is expressed through our higher nature

When a man’s love finds expression through his lower nature, his gaze immediately reflects his desire to gratify his instincts, with no thought for the feelings of his partner: he is hungry and thirsty and wants to satisfy his appetite. Whereas if his love is expressed through his higher nature, his gaze will emanate beauty, light and nobility, because this kind of love demands and desires nothing other than to give, enlighten and save. This love is true love.
However, most women prefer a passionate gaze, a gaze filled with desire. Then they are happy, because the poor things think that such an intense, powerful, expressive love must be an everlasting one. Women seek only love that will endure, and rightly so. But, often they are too blind to realize that a sensual gaze signifies love that will not last, a love as violent as a flash fire, extinguished as quickly as it caught alight.*
