Serpent
The astral serpent has a dual nature, bright and dark
July 14th 2025
Snakes move in a sinusoidal pattern. And the movement of light is also sinusoidal. This is why Initiates use the image of a snake to explain the magic agent, this universal medium they call astral light, through which waves travel in space. In itself this agent is neutral, its function is simply to act as a transmitter, and it transmits good as evil as well. The astral serpent thus has a dual nature, both luminous and dark, and it was to express this dual nature that Initiates twined two serpents around the caduceus. They represent the two currents, positive and negative, of astral light. The first is bright and warm, the second is dark and cold; one is white, the other is black.
There are two aspects to a serpent, but it is a single entity. We must conquer its evil aspects, and once they are conquered, the serpent places itself at our service and gives us its energies. Yes, but first we must master the serpent.*
