Reward

Only he who is all-seeing can appreciate your generous deeds

Why are you afraid to act with kindness and generosity? Is it because you believe that you can count only on the recognition of human beings, and since people are often ungrateful, even mean, you reckon that it is not worth making an effort on their behalf? Well, this is a very pernicious philosophy for it paralyses all that is best in you. One of your good deeds may have gone unnoticed, or you may even have been wronged. It does happen.
But try to understand, once and for all, that you can never expect anything from other people. So expect nothing, except from Him who is all-seeing and all-knowing. He alone will appreciate your good and generous actions, and it is from Him that your reward will come―although perhaps not in the form you expected. You will be granted better health, and more strength, wisdom and happiness: isn’t this the best reward of all?
