Education (genuine)

Received through love, or else through the heat of suffering

May 6th 2026
When a blacksmith wishes to shape a piece of iron, he begins by heating it before hammering it into the required form. If the lump of iron has not been heated, he can strike it as much as he wants, but it will either stay as it is or break into pieces.
This phenomenon has a parallel in the psychic life: it reveals that living beings can be truly educated only by means of heat. What does heat represent? Love. So, those who rely too heavily on their intellect, at the expense of the heart, will never be able to receive a genuine education. They will, however, receive other lessons. They will suffer and complain of being burned by fire and beaten by blows. Well, they should know that heaven is turning the heat on them, then putting them through trials so that they can be forged into divine shapes.
