A cell in a social organism and in the cosmic organism

Every individual is independent and autonomous, of course. But every person is also connected to the human collectivity and, beyond that, to all the realms of nature, to the cosmic collectivity. We therefore live two lives simultaneously: both a personal life and a collective life.
Most people are not really aware of all this, but it would be better for it to become a conscious fact. Those who feel driven to immerse themselves in collective, universal life must not lose their self-awareness, in order to always be able to think and act like responsible beings. And those who feel that they are individuals quite distinct from everybody else, must realize, whilst retaining the sense of their own individuality, that they belong to a whole, that they are a cell in a social organism, and beyond that, a cell in the cosmic organism.
