It is good or bad depending on the goal that we have set for ourselves

Are those who wish to lead a life of chastity and self-restraint right? That depends on their goal in life. Abstinence may produce very positive results, but also very bad ones: it can make some people hysterical, neurotic or ill, and bring strength, balance and health to others. Are those who give free reign to their sexual instincts right to do so? Certainly, if this is the most important pleasure in their life and they are not capable of doing without, then they are right. But for those who have spiritual aspirations, it is a different matter. If they do not learn to control themselves, they will never fulfil those aspirations and they will always feel dissatisfied. So nothing is good or bad in itself; but everything becomes good or bad depending on the goal that we have set ourselves.
