Morality
True morality resides within human beings
August 24th 2026
What is generally referred to as morality is often no more than a set of rules inspired by social, historical or geographical conditions. Such morality is purely external and can be compared to etiquette. Just look at all the different ways in which people greet each other—by raising their hat, shaking hands, bowing with hands joined, kissing on the mouth, and so on. In some places it is immoral to be naked, in others clothes are taboo. In some places a man may not look at the face of a woman, in others he is expected to sleep with his host’s wife. Obviously, none of these customs has anything to do with true morality.
For Initiates, morality consists of the laws that Cosmic Intelligence has inscribed in the human organism, at the very heart of the cells of their organs. If human beings are to enjoy good psychic and physical health, they must respect these laws, otherwise they will destroy themselves. So, it is within us that true morality takes its origin, not in the external world. When you look at the question from this point of view, it becomes clear that there is one, absolute morality, which is the same for everybody, and that we must not take it lightly or search for arguments to justify immorality. True morality cannot be destroyed, for it lives within each human being. When you break one of its laws, its response will be implacable, whether you are white, black, yellow or red.
