We are young princes sent down to earth to be educated
August 27th 2026
There was once a young prince who, while still a child, had been put in the care of a family of peasants to learn about life’s hardships. He had no idea that he was heir to a throne, and he went to work every day, clad in rags and with only just enough to eat. Many years later, judging that his education was complete, his father, the king, sent a delegation to bring him home to the palace. The young man could not understand what was happening; he was sure it was all a mistake. But then he was told how he had been sent to live with the peasants in order to learn to work hard and live soberly, and not to have everything his own way. So the young prince arrives at the palace and when he is asked what he would like to eat, he asks for bread, an onion and a glass of water. He does not realize that the royal chef has prepared a feast of turkey and lobster with the very best wines. You can well imagine the rest of the story…
And now, suppose I tell you that, inwardly, you are all princes and princesses, sons and daughters of God, and that God has put you in the care of peasants to be educated—this is the symbolic meaning of life on earth. But one fine day, He will send a solemn delegation to take you home. Yes, but only on condition that you have worked well, otherwise your apprenticeship with the peasants may last for many reincarnations.
