Disinterestedness
‘it is not i who deserve the glory, but you lord’
October 26th 2026
Disciples must take measures to ensure that their lower nature does not get the better of their divine nature. When they succeed in a particular area, they must tell themselves, ‘It is not I who deserve the credit, but You, Lord’, otherwise they risk falling into the trap of pride. When you receive praise or you are being congratulated, be on your guard, do not be in a hurry to think so highly of yourself, but tell yourself over and over again, ‘Lord, the glory is all yours, not mine.’ Other people often unintentionally set traps for you, and you could take their compliments so seriously that you become conceited and pretentious, which poses a threat to your evolution.
You should work for the glory of God, and if you are praised, transfer this praise on to Him; that is how the impersonal, disinterested side of your being can develop. Heaven appraises you according to your attitude in order to know in whose name you work. Nothing is more important for a disciple’s true glory than glorifying the Lord.
