It seeks love, which makes it quicken and come alive

The heart seeks neither knowledge nor power. The heart aspires to happiness in the form of dilation, and the heart can dilate only with warmth, that is to say, with love. It is love that makes the heart quicken and come alive. That is why it seeks this warmth everywhere, in all beings, whereas the cold kills it. You can offer the heart all the possessions and riches in the world, and even all the secrets of the universe, but the heart will say, ‘No, that is not what I need, give me love!’ It is with love that people obtain what they desire, because this love will awaken and nourish all the divine seeds in their heart.
