Happiness (lasting)
It comes from our way of considering things
November 16th 2026
True and lasting happiness can come only from within, from your way of looking at things. In fact, we have seen it time and time again: faced with identical situations, people do not all react in the same way. Take a common example from daily life: a traffic jam. Drivers’ reactions vary widely: some become irritated, lean on their horns, and curse the other drivers; some calmly scan the newspaper or listen to the radio; others chat with their passenger, or hug and kiss, if it happens to be their sweetheart. And yet others—but they are obviously much rarer—take advantage of the pause to calm down, harmonize themselves, and turn inwards to make contact with heaven, sending their love and light to every creature on earth.
So, it is in your own minds that adjustments must be made. It is your thoughts that influence your state of mind. With sound reasoning and a good philosophy of life, you can take charge of your own happiness. And in circumstances in which people poison others’ lives with their anger and irritation, you on the contrary, become stronger and richer. And thanks to your experiences, you will then be in a position to help those around you.
