Matter on the physical plane is opaque, dense and heavy, and it is difficult to shape. Just look at all the tools required to shape wood, iron or stone. How different this is from matter in the psychic world! The very moment you have a thought, psychic matter takes the shape your thought has given it. Even if you are not conscious of this, it still happens: your thoughts constantly mould and fashion matter, giving it all kinds of forms. But since this subtle matter does not have the power to manifest itself here on the physical plane, it passes through without touching it. In order for it to affect objects and beings, it must be condensed. And this is possible: by working at length on their mental creations, by bringing them down onto the astral plane, onto the plane of feelings—and even by adding particles of their own matter to them—human beings are able to clothe these thought-forms in physical matter.
