We must work according to the laws of wisdom and the methods of love. Love and wisdom are like the two hands of a clock: wisdom is the small hand that marks the hours, and love is the big hand that marks the minutes. It is wisdom that enables us to choose a high ideal, a program for life that is valid for all eternity. But in order to carry out this program, we must adopt the methods of love—that is, to live each minute of the day with joy, without ever losing our enthusiasm. In this way we reconcile the program of eternity with that of each day. Wisdom points the way to go, and the heart keeps us going.
