Virtues
They are far more difficult to acquire than book-learning
December 11th 2026
In the eyes of Cosmic Intelligence, human values are not true values. Human beings judge things according to their own standards, and never ask themselves whether they are not attaching too little or too much importance to certain values.
They attribute a lot of importance to formal education, for instance. If you ask someone how long it took them to get a degree, they will say three to five years—a little more for a doctor—and this seems like a lot. Yes, but to acquire virtues such as patience, kindness, generosity or wisdom you need more than a few years, it takes centuries! It is far easier to acquire some book-learning than to develop moral qualities. When people possess these qualities it means that they have worked for centuries to earn them, so why underestimate them?
