Victories, our

All credit must go to god

November 25th 2012
When you feel you have gained a victory over your lower nature, remain modest. To do so, you must think of the credit as going not to yourself but to the Lord, who enabled you to master your nature. So, after each victory, say, ‘The credit is not mine, Lord, but all yours.’ Otherwise, you are likely to fall into the traps of pride and vanity, as has happened to so many. And when someone congratulates you because you have behaved well or done good work, again say, ‘The credit is not mine, Lord, but all yours.’ For in praising you others may unintentionally be setting traps for you, as the praise may go to your head. You must work for the glory of God, and if you are praised transfer the praise to him. Such an attitude will show you to be his servant. For your true glory is not yours personally but God’s.
