Condensed sunlight

If human beings value gold so much and seek it out, it is because subconsciously they know a secret: namely, that gold is a condensed, materialized form of sunlight and that this light contains life, strength—everything. Before searching for gold, it is more important to seek the light, because light represents the head, so to speak, whereas gold represents the tail. Light is the soul and gold is the body. If you grasp the body without touching the soul, you really grasp nothing. If you possess the body without possessing the soul, all you have is a corpse.
You should also understand that it is dangerous to want to possess gold before you have the light. You know what happens to someone who grabs a snake by the tail: they get bitten. You must take hold of a snake by its head; then not only will you be safe, but the tail will follow the head.*
