Look at it with new eyes

When you are in front of the rising sun, learn to look at it with new eyes. Say, ‘Dear sun, I have never really known you. Of course, I could see that you were beautiful and pure, and that you poured out your light and warmth every day, but I had not yet understood the lesson you wanted to teach us. Now I understand that you are showing us the path of truth, perfection and fulfilment, and I long to be just like you.’ Of course, you will never actually resemble the sun; it is impossible. But that does not matter. Keep an image of the sun in your mind as your ideal, for it is precisely an impossible ideal that can affect, strengthen and transform a human being.
It is not the things you have and hold, or what you have already managed to achieve that can further your evolution. Seek the impossible, the unattainable, for this alone can incite you to advance, to keep moving forward.*
